• Starting the engine: The assisting vehicle’s engine will be started and allowed to run for a few minutes to charge the dead battery. After a few minutes, the engine of the vehicle that needs to be started should be able to start on its own.
• Disconnecting the cables: The cables must be disconnected in reverse order to avoid any electrical surges.
